Fire TV Stick vs. Google TV Streamer: which one for streaming TV?
An honest comparison of Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K models and Google TV devices for live TV apps: interface, remote, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, voice and price range.
Both work well with our app. Choose Fire TV if you use Alexa and want the lowest entry price; choose Google TV if you prefer Google Assistant, a cleaner content-first interface, or built-in Ethernet on the Streamer.

For live TV specifically
Channel switching speed depends more on your connection and the app than on the device. A wired connection helps most, which gives the Google TV Streamer an edge out of the box. Fire TV’s Live tab can integrate some apps’ channels into its guide; Google TV offers a similar Live tab for supported apps.
Our recommendation
Pick the ecosystem you already use. If your TV already runs Fire TV or Google TV, you don’t need either: install our app directly with the Fire TV guide or the Google TV guide.
